StemCultures specializes in the manufacture of controlled-release growth factor technology to aid in cell culture research. Decades of research at the Neural Stem Cell Institute and StemCultures resulted in a solution to the challenge that growth factor lability presents to control of the cell culture environment. StemBeads® and DISC™ Devices were born out of scientific necessity to more effectively control growth factor signaling in cell cultures.

Its proprietary micro-encapsulation technology controls growth factor levels over time to more closely mimic the native biologic niche by minimizing signaling peaks and valleys experienced with conventional soluble growth factors. StemBeads® are used by scientists worldwide who understand the complexity of cell culture and the importance of high-quality reagents. DISC™ devices expand the application of StemBeads® control-release technology using a simple carrier that can be readily added or removed from the culture environment. StemBeads® and DISC™ devices support a wide array of research applications, such as primary tumor cells and organoid development.
