|

NIH Small Business 101 is a new webinar series designed to help small businesses prepare for the next chapter of the small business program (SBIR/STTR). This is the fourth in the series, Managing Foreign Risk, originally airing on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. It explains how foreign disclosure and risk management requirements affect SBIR and STTR applicants. The session covers required foreign affiliation disclosures, HHS foreign security risk assessments, circumstances that can require denial of an award, and applicants’ responsibilities for conducting due diligence on owners, covered individuals, contractors, collaborators, and other partners. It also uses NIH case studies to show how companies can identify, remove, and disclose potential foreign risks before an award.
