The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is the Federal Government's lead agency for supporting scientific research on drug abuse and addiction. NIDA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs are NIDA’s engine of innovation for developing and commercializing novel technologies and products to prevent, diagnose, and treat substance use disorders (SUDs).

Schedule a Meeting
NIDA's SBIR and STTR projects are overseen by the Office of Translational Initiatives and Program Innovation (OTIPI). Prior to applying, companies are strongly encouraged to schedule a meeting with program staff.

NIDA Funding
NIDA participates in NIH’s SBIR and STTR Omnibus Funding Opportunity Announcement and issues targeted funding opportunities for various type of technologies. Funding ranges from $150K for Phase I up to $3M for Phase II.
Eligibility
