2024 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Meeting

Baltimore, MD
October 23-26, 2024

Stephanie Fertig, Director of the NIH Small Business Program, will speak on a panel called Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Support at the National Institutes of Health at the 2024 Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Annual Meeting on October 24 at 9:15 a.m.

Todd Merchak, Director of the Office of Program Evaluation and Strategic Partnerships at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), and Kari Ashmont, Translational Team Lead of the same office, will also speak on this panel.

Attendees will learn about the NIH Small Business Program and other initiatives designed to support the transition from academia to startup. These translational activities educate investigators about entrepreneurship and provide a critical understanding of developing a laboratory invention into a marketable product.

This will be a panel-style session. Each participant will give a brief presentation about their program before an interactive question-and-answer session with the audience.

Time: 9:00AM EDT - 5:00PM EDT
